(More customer reviews)Fair warning, I know less than squat about car batteries and chargers. I left the hatch open on my car for several days and I guess the light being on drained the battery. So I went down to the auto parts store and picked this out by the innie-minnie method. Basically, I liked that it was not as huge like the other models and it said it would jump start as well as charge (also tests alternator). Looked good to me.

Back in the garage, I had time so rather than jump start, I selected charge and everything seemed to go according to plan. The charger has a meter and it showed that battery was partially drained (needle did not reach into green zone but was not in red either). That makes sense since I had enough juice to turn the lights on but not enough to turn over the engine. After plugging it in, the display on the charger said "charging" and so I went away, came back some hours later, and it was done. Disconnected the charger and turned the key and the engine turned over like a jet. So based on that, I conclude that charger worked exactly as advertised. Hope that helps.

(More customer reviews)I purchased a Solio Classic for use on a cross country bike trip. The product worked well, recharging a PDA, iPod and cell phone. But a piece (the center bushing around which the solar wings pivot) broke. It was my fault and I figured I could contact the company for a replacement part once I finished the trip.

I emailed them requesting the part, and here was their reply:"Unfortunatly we do not sell parts for your Solio. You will need to purchase a replacment unit."

My response:"This is very disappointing and unreasonable. I am not going to spend tens of dollars replacing a perfectly functional unit simply because an inexpensive plastic part has broken. I suggest you rethink this policy. Since you still manufacture the Classic, the part must still be available. This is really poor customer relations!"

They responded: "We do not do repairs on site. The unit holds a one year warrenty, if you are out of that time period you will have to purchase another unit. I apologize if you do not agree with our policy."

I suggest you do not support a company that on one hand touts its environmental cachet, and on the other promotes the senseless discarding of an easily repairable product.

(More customer reviews)Here in Holland you could by them for 10 euro's. The voltage in my tested optimum situation is 22+ voltage with arround 100 miliamps.
So in optimum conditions you generate 1 amps per day for charging the battery. Needless to say this is in practical use for charging
batteries not enough. But to keep the amps for the battery up it does the job and thats what this panel intended to do.

Now if you buy 2 of these and use a dc dc converter you get lower voltage but higher amps if i am not mistaken. And then you perhaps
have enough power to drive a waterpump for a fountain in the garden. The misses wil be glad then also :)

Pros:
This light is very well put together! completely sealed & water resistant.
They don't lie - it is indeed bright as hell.
The battery life is incredible, seems to go forever on a single charge.

Cons:
It is much more like a flashlight than a work / trouble light, all those LED's seem to focus into one beam.
The single red LED is completely pointless LOL.

All in all it's a great light for $20, I will use the crap out of it, but if you're looking for more of a flood light then you should consider a better light or a more traditional trouble light.

(More customer reviews)My car battery gaged 12.1 or 12.2 volts (12.8 is good/new) on the multimeter before I used this charger/ desulfator. The multimeter now reads 12.4 volts. So it does work a little.
The battery in question is 2 1/2 yrs old Walmart Gold (3 year) type. This
product is definitely useful. On the negative side, the instructions are a little confusing to understand,and the product itself has various places where a red or green or plain colored lights appear; butthe Optimate does whatever has to be done once plugged in.
Also, the terminals from thecar battery must be disconnected from
the battery posts for Optimate to work effectively, though failure to
disconnect will not harm car or product.

If you have a vehicle that doesn't get driven much, the battery will eventually die an early death and have to be replaced, often at great expense. I checked mine today and it was fully charged! Highly recommended.
